I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors and hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Over the years, I’ve supported adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, trauma, depression, grief, self-esteem challenges, workplace stress, relationship difficulties, and more.

Before joining private practice in BC, I worked internationally as a psychologist and clinical team lead, conducting therapy and supervising clinicians across diverse cultural and organizational settings. I have facilitated workshops, developed treatment programs, and been featured in major media outlets—including India Today and Times of India—for my work in mental health advocacy and psychoeducation. I can provide counselling in both English and Hindi.

I’m committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment where clients from all backgrounds can explore their emotions, experiences, and aspirations with care and confidence.

I believe therapy works best when it feels authentic, collaborative, and grounded in compassion. My role is not just to help you manage symptoms, but to help you reconnect with your sense of wholeness and self-worth. I take a trauma-informed, non-pathologizing, and culturally sensitive stance that honours your lived experience and personal strengths.

Every session is a dialogue—an exploration of your story at your pace, where you can feel seen, heard, and supported in developing resilience and long-term emotional balance.

My practice draws from multiple evidence-based modalities, including: • Client-Centred Therapy • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) • Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT) • Narrative Therapy • Internal Family Systems (IFS) • Psychodynamic Therapy • Mindfulness-Based Practices

I tailor therapy to each person’s needs—whether you’re seeking structured skill-building, deeper insight, or a safe space to process and heal. Together, we’ll work toward clarity, resilience, and lasting emotional well-being.

For my entire professional life, I have focused on helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, discover purpose and connection, and engage in the work of healing and growth. Throughout this journey, I have supported people facing a wide range of concerns: anxiety and stress, depression, anger, relationship struggles, panic attacks, PTSD, low confidence, recovery from sexual assault or abuse, spiritual trauma, childhood trauma, and more.

My practice is grounded in a steady belief that healing begins with honesty. As a therapist, I create a structured and compassionate space for that honesty — a place to explore the stories, patterns, and wounds that shape how we live and love, with the aim of creating thoughtful, lasting change.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC and a trained EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). My work is primarily rooted in three evidence-based approaches in which I have received advanced training: Attachment Theory, EMDR, and AEDP. I integrate these frameworks to help clients safely revisit their stories and create meaningful change — not to relive old pain endlessly, but to transform the way that pain continues to shape their lives today.

My work is not about talking in circles. It is about getting to the root: understanding what drives patterns, why reactions feel automatic, and how the past still echoes through relationships, choices, and one’s sense of self.

My belief in the transformative impact of counselling emerged from my own experience of being deeply cared for by a therapist. This mentor invested in my life, recognized my potential, created safety to explore painful parts of my story, and challenged me at critical moments. That blend of non-judgmental compassion and thoughtful challenge became a refining fire that helped me mature and grow as a man. That same patient attention and courageous honesty now guide my work with clients.

Many of the individuals who work with me are thoughtful and capable, yet feel stuck in recurring emotional patterns or relational dynamics. They don’t just want to “feel better” — they want to understand themselves more deeply and create lasting change.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Psychotherapist, founder of Wellspring Counselling & Psychotherapy Inc., former Adjunct Professor of Counselling Psychology at UBC, published author, and developer of CorMorphosis™ Psychotherapy — an integrative, experiential framework designed to transform emotional patterns at their roots.

My approach goes beyond symptom management. I focus on helping clients develop emotional clarity, strengthen self-regulation, understand the deeper drivers of their reactions, and build the internal architecture needed for lasting growth.

Drawing on EMDR, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), I blend structured methods with depth-oriented experiential work. The goal is not just relief, but transformation — both healing from the past and intentional development moving forward.

Outside of my professional life, I am a husband and father, and have long-standing interests in history, philosophy, literature, martial arts, and the study of human behavior and strategy.

Mark is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology, bringing over two decades of experience guiding, mentoring, and supporting people through meaningful change.

His path into counselling began long before formal training—rooted in years spent leading multi-day hiking and paddling expeditions across the wilderness of British Columbia and the Yukon. In these remote environments, Mark supported individuals as they faced uncertainty, fear, fatigue, and moments of profound personal insight. These experiences shaped his deep respect for human resilience, the importance of presence, and the ways people grow when they learn to relate differently to discomfort and challenge.

Today, Mark brings this same steadiness and perspective into his counselling work. His approach is trauma-informed, mindfulness-based, and values-oriented, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems–informed work, Existential Analysis, Narrative Therapy, and Exposure-based approaches. He helps clients develop greater psychological flexibility, relate more compassionately to their inner experiences, and move toward lives that feel meaningful and aligned with what matters most to them.

Whether clients are navigating a major life transition, working through anxiety or trauma, seeking clarity, or feeling stuck in old patterns, Mark offers a grounded, compassionate space where exploration and change can unfold at a sustainable pace. He walks alongside clients with a calm, seasoned presence—supporting them in finding direction, hope, and the possibility of genuine transformation.
